🧘‍♂️ How to Chant the Right Way – Step-by-Step

1. Choose Your Time

  • Best times: early morning (Brahma Muhurta) or evening at sunset.

  • Morning? Take a shower, stay fasting (only tea is okay), and chant before breakfast.

  • Most important: same time every day.

2. Prepare Your Space

  • Sit on a wooden seat or woolen mat – not directly on the floor.

  • Face East in the morning, West in the evening, or toward your home temple.

  • Create a clean, quiet spot where you won’t be disturbed.

3. Decide Duration or Count

  • Start with 5–15 minutes, or chant a full mala (108 times).

  • Use mala beads to stay focused and count your repetitions.

4. Pick a Mantra

  • Keep it simple and meaningful to you. Examples:

    • Om” – universal sound

    • Om Namah Shivaya” – for inner strength

    • Gayatri Mantra” – for clarity and light

  • Stick with one mantra to build energy over time.

5. Chant with Breath and Rhythm

  • Inhale gently, then chant while exhaling.

  • Keep a steady, natural rhythm. Speak or whisper clearly.

  • Let the mantra and breath move together like a flow.
